So freaked out I forgot to use the sights. It was just point and shoot. I've always been trained center of mass and the gun was pointed at his chest. I think I missed over his left shoulder. Which is a typical pulled/rushed shot for me.
Thanks for all the support from everyone...
Yes police kept pistol for a few 3-4 weeks. I only had to be mildly aggressive to get it returned.(After about 2 weeks I called about every other day to ask about it. Everything was polite and I kept telling them they could keep it if they still needed it.)
It was returned short one round...
Local .... Area Head. So head of I'm guessing 8- 10 stores in Anderson, Muncie, and I think Pendleton, I can't really remember exactly. Reports directly to owner of franchise who owns stores here and in Ohio.... He would answer only to corporate offices.
For the security of my friends and former coworkers I will leave it at - it was not common knowledge. The only people I let know directly were people who in some way found out on there own and asked directly. I answered honestly. (I'm an honest kind of guy. Sometimes to a fault.)
Only 2...
Add: I keep forgetting that the newspaper tried to I don't know "spice it up" or something by emphasizing the "back of head" like it was an execution. Like I said I think he caught the ricochet. Because, I would think a 9mm hollow point that hits at 7 feet would cause a mess. My undocumented...
No charges.
He had left the money at the front and was what I can only assume to be "clearing" the back. I don't know what he was doing - could have been a victory lap. But, he sure wasn't on his way out.
My only pistol is a keltec PF9. Bought for price and concealability. I think it has taken kind of a bad rap as a handgun. I had some failure to eject and stovepipe jams at first because you can't give a gun that size any wrist at all. Once that was worked out - it's been great. Fits in with...
I agree with your opinions but for the sake of clarity.
The suspect was in no manner leaving, that is newspaper misinformation. When he encountered me, he had left the money in the front and was what I can only assume was "clearing" the back.
The issue of losing my job over this is being discussed here.
I thought that a discussion of my account of the incident would be both of interest and therapeutic.
So as promised when I first posted in January here is the statement as I provided both the police and Pizza Huts Insurance Agent...
Now, that's a PR statement.... But unfortunately, I'm pretty sure as previous a poster said this is an across the board policy at these type of establishments.
Actually all hints pointed in the opposite direction.
Otherwise valid points.
Koukalaka: .... PR statement, it must be the right one: good people are free to exercise their rights, and this results in a SAFER society and the protection of others--NOT that we are "gun nuts" who walk around...
I may do this. I'm still not at the acceptance stage of the loss cycle(More still around angry). So, I've got no clear plan yet. Thanks for that super duper lead though. I very much would like to work for a small bussiness rather than a corp.
I've never really been a "gun nut" (though I'm...
Yes. I had those precise thoughts
paddling_man: What does your attorney say?
Attorneys cost money. And if you will note my previous place of employment....
If I thought were a case, I would. And if I "have" to go to court for any reason I take a lawyer (Lesson hard learned.) But, as...
Exactly my thinking as well. But, for purposes of truth in advertising - their decision does also coincide with the criminal conviction and closure of their corporate insurance case.
When I was talking with my father after the meeting he suggested just the opposite that now the story has...
After three months(paid) of just waiting following my incident. I was finally called in for a meeting with my supervisors at 8am this morning. The person in charge showed up 30 minutes late to let me know she was "not going to drag this out." and that I was being terminated for failure to...
I was so focused on breakdown and folding that I never even thought about this sort of thing. I think this might be perfect. Found one under $200 first search.
Thanks for the photo it really helped to show the size of the package.
