"I just got a call from a voter in Muncie who was turned away from the polls because he was lawfully carrying a handgun. The poll inspector tried to tell him that carrying a gun into the poll was "voter intimidation."
Sigh. So much ignorance - so...
they haven't even gotten to the point where settlements are on the table yet. if it goes far enough, indiana law establishes minimum amounts for payout on this kind of case.

no, the federal angle was considered, but it would be unlikely that the federal court would touch it because they will not speak on a state firearms matter.
to my knowledge, there was no pre-suit discussion. i don't see why the parties named would approach a person before they file a lawsuit.
here is the complaint filed as of this morning by my brother and his attorney:

the military is not generally concerned with your off-duty legal behavior in my experience
exactly. if my brother intended to make a scene, he would have carried his 6 inch stainless gp100 on his hip or an AR slung over his back. as it stands, he carried his most subdued, every day carry gun, in a manner completely without ostentation.

we went through the same learning curve a few years ago when the media found out about OC. they called it "new" even though michigan has had preemption since the 90s. judging by the way OC lawsuits have gone in michigan, i would very much doubt he will be able to come close to retiring based on...
