      A 12 with a good pad like a Limbsaver is not a bad kicker. If you were open to adding another caliber a .20 ga is great for kids.

      They are about $300 new at Gander Mountain. Probably a little cheaper at Sportsmans Warehouse, but I haven't checked. Gander Mountain is always a little high.

      Shot an AR-15 for the first time today

      I just got my first AR last week. A Colt LE6920. What everyone here says is true. I was hooked by the bottom of the first clip. What a great rifle, and really FUN to shoot.
