      Looks like I will be buying some propane tanks for my portable water heater/shower and stacking more wood on the porch, buying more chicken feed, and getting some more gas for duel fuel coleman lantern. Generator would be nice, but not too much use for one myself especially if its cold enough...

      You cant go wrong learning these old skills. Spent the better part of the last 6 years learning them. Gives you a good feeling the first time you start a fire when its wet outside, no dry tinder or wood to be had!

      Pee in a bucket and pour into your compost. Have an outhouse set up for that very reason, only use it in warm weather though!:D

      What about a teepee? No ones mentiones that. I know a guy that lived in one for years in Idaho. They started calling him crazy. Then he adopted a coyote pup, now everyone calls him crazy coyote. Anyways, teepee is a goo idea as well as a yurt.

      Anyone read the book "humanure handbook?" I have read that the koreans have been using their excrement for several thousands years for fertilizer. Cant say i look forward to it, but would help to get rid of it!!

      Been "lurking" for a while now on INGO and feel its time to start posting. Been hunting most of my life, an now new into prepping/homesteading scene. Seems like a pretty good group here, but why wouldnt it be we are all HOOSIERS right!?!
