This is going to be my long distance trainer, after I get it dialed in at 100 I'll step out to 200 and tweak the load. I'm a ways off of having a consistent 300yrd round, let alone 50rds to burn!
My 1st attempt at getting my new savage dialed in.
the 1st 5 shot "group" with 145gr FMJ WWB.
The 2nd group is Speer 168gr HPBT projectiles pushed with 44.7grs of Varget seated at 2.8" using the brass and primers left over from pulled mil-surp rounds.
3rd group is the Speer 168gr, 44.7gr...
You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between my properly set up midlength and a dedicated 22lr upper. That's not the norm, with off the shelf ARs midlength is going to be softer shooting than carbine. And I think that info will be more useful to OP.
