Hay and straw, two different things all together. Remember the saying hays for horses? Straw is the left over stalk of wheat, barley, oats etc... hay on the other hand is various grass' used for animal feed. Not trying to be a smart ass or nothing!
One would think leupold make one for their scopes. I'd contact them first and see if you could exchange the one you have for one that fits. There customer service is Second to none.
Get a light climber. Check Craigslist or armslist. You can usually find a pretty good deal on stands, blinds etc..etc ..... but on the other hand you might be buying stolen property. I've had at least 5 ladder and hang on stands cut off of trees over the past few years.
