I've been using a CED 7000 for a while now and have been completely satisfied. I purchased the external battery pack so I could have a backup if the battery died but so far I've never needed it. Dusty is right, it lasts for a long time.
If the other guns are fine I suspect it has more to do with handling the gun and not oiling it before storage. As has been pointed out, stainless guns are not rust proof they are just less prone to rust.
It can't hurt to contact Kimber about it and see what they suggest or what they will do...
This (except the Glock part). I've carried a Sig 229 for work for over 13 years. They are reliable effective guns but I hate DA/SA triggers. If I had my way I would carry an M&P.
As a Sig armorer for a medium sized department I can say that most PD reliability issues with any platform...
