      Full Contact Gun Fighting-Aaron Little

I plan to attend ECQC at some point in the near future and now I'm considering taking this course with Aaron as well. Would you suggest taking one before the other as you've done both or does it matter? I would suggest taking The Complete Combatant, ECQC, and the Full Contact Gun Fighting in...

      Full Contact Gun Fighting-Aaron Little

Great questions. I feel like I could write an entirely separate review of how BJJ prepared me for these types of classes. I have been training BJJ for almost a year. It has helped me not only on the ground, but even with the stand up game. Being able to feel the other persons movements and...

      Full Contact Gun Fighting-Aaron Little

The drills generally started from standing with a "neutral" grip-meaning you grab my arm and I grab your arm. Some of the drills started from specific positions (ie taking someone's back to learn how to work the escape). The other two combatives classes I have taken are ECQC and The Complete...

AAR - ECQC with Craig Douglas 2017/06/02-04

I really liked the AAR-very informative and pretty accurate for how I remember the class when I took it in December of 2016. Like someone else posted, I am sad to see that you didn't participate in the evolutions. I understand the physical aspect of the class, but thats where the true learning...

      Steve Fisher-Practical Shotgun

I didn't have a problem with the sling, but there wasn't a bunch of movement in the class. However, all I run is single point slings on all of my long guns, so it doesnt bother me as long as its an SOE sling. I've tried other single point slings and the actual sling makes a difference.

      Steve Fisher-Practical Shotgun

It was the versa tight wad Hornady 8 pellet buck. Steve said it was the higher velocity buck that was designed for semi auto shotguns. Apparently they make a lower recoil of the same load and I think that might have patterned better. I bought some Federal 9 pellet 00 buck flite control today...

      BUG on the Belt

I carry an air weight SW revolver in my pocket, opposite my primary carry gun. By no means am I an advocate for revolver carry, unless its a back up. I also like the benefits of an entangled encounter where I feel the revolver excels. I used to carry my back up on my ankle, but i wanted...

      Anyone been to ECQC?

I saw a 30 year Karate veteran get the crap beat out of him by someone who knew very little BJJ. It was an eye opening moment for him. And for me.

John McPhee NVD and Pistol class

I recently read a review where a guy shot around 100 rounds in his two day class. And of those 100 rounds, only 6 rounds were shot on the first day. I know people will say "its not how many rounds you shoot thats what is important." I agree, but I think only 100 rounds in a two day class is...

I've taken it. I did a review on here last december/jan for it. It will change your life. It's an ego killer.

      Building Clearing-Tactical Response

And cops dont take training on their own, so lets not pretend these kind of courses are full of cops.

      Building Clearing-Tactical Response

While I would never recommend a course like this for someone who hasn't had any training, there were skills that I got to refine that weren't directly related to "building clearing." Like any force on force class, front sight focus during shooting is a skill that takes a while to learn. As...

Building Clearing-Tactical Response 4/22/2017-4/23/2017 Below is my review for Building Clearing taught by Tactical Response in Camden, TN. Gear used for this course was my normal EDC with the addition of a Glock 17T. The flashlight I used was a Streamlight ProTac 1L. Jay Gibson and Tim...

Police Shooting Civilian in Training Released

It still baffles me how many gun owners will debate the four firearms safety rules.
