Thanks to all of you who talked me through this. If it's possible to be a 5-year newbie, then I guess I am one. And it's true that I had an unfortunate first impression. It's equally true that I didn't understand the reasoning behind the policies. My dad always told me I had a short fuse...
I have a Makarov P63 with two mags and ten boxes of ammo. I live in Wabash County. This gun might be larger than you'll want for CC, but it you're interested in working out a trade I could meet you in Fort Wayne.

I can work on engines, but really am a babe in the woods when it comes to firearms. If I'm going to shoot that Savage (and I always really liked it), I'd be more comfortable having a qualified gunsmith do the work. Many thanks for the info. I bookmarked the site.
I have my dad's old Stevens Savage Model 28 12-gauge shotgun. Many years ago the shell ejector (receiver?) stopped working because a piece broke and fell out. I took it to a gunsmith who soldered the piece, reassembled it, and told me to make it a collector piece, not to fire it, as that piece...
Yeah, mine isn't heaven to shoot. One reason I'd like to trade it to someone who will appreciate it. I buy nearly all my ammo from Bass and Bucks these days, mostly for the reason given above. They do stock 9X18 Makarov, by the way.
Forgot to mention...a while back when ammo prices went sky-high, Glenn held the line on his prices. When I asked him why, he didn't pat himself ont he back. Instead, he said, "I want my neighbors to be armed." That kind of attitude produces the kind of customer loyalty that keeps guys like me...
A fellow had a S & W Bodyguard to trade for a Makarov. I've got a Makarov and would rather have the Bodyguard as a carry gun, so I wanted to try a swap.
