I have never had a problem with any steel case ammo, neither feeding nor wear and tear.
Just one note of caution, if you shoot competitively, just make sure that you aren't taking bimetal or other rounds to a match that may harm steel targets. Don't know if that applies to you, but just in case.
For a frame of reference, I think that my .223 55gr's (using hornady bulk FMJ's) is costing me about .25/round. So .30-.35 sounds excellent for the trouble.
If you are going to go that route, you all are being too nice. Ensure that each step above the second has only one nail remaining. Or just weaken the structure of the platform. It's on your property, do as you see fit. If people feel they have the right to violate yours, then they should learn a...
You could try some cleverly placed trail / game cams, and see if you can get photo evidence. Not sure if that will help gain assistance from the sheriff or not.
If you ever find yourself near Lafayette, just drop me a PM, I have a box that I bought years ago and I am still working through that, I can spare some. (IDPA cardboard)
Once you are comfortable with basic range safety related to competition, I think that either IDPA or USPSA is a great starting point. IDPA will be a little bit lower pressure for the "new" shooter, just by nature, but either are just fine. And the people will be helpful for the most part (and if...
Also, anyone who wants up to date information about the INMG series of events, please ensure that you subscribe to the mailing list (Google Mail Group), linked on the www.IndianaMultigun.com site. That's the only method we have to communicate last minute round count changes, cancellations, and...
For those of you that sleep before a match, and don't stay up reloading all night, how do you actually have enough ammo to make it through the match?
Seriously though, I find that packing stuff up early the day before, thus figuring out right then if you have everything, helps you to sleep...
Just for what it's worth, I saw quite a few JM Pro failures this year. No hard warnings meant here, just some anecdotal evidence. You might want to speak with some of those that actively run them in 3-gun before purchasing.
Good point, I guess I used to look for matches that were part of the old contingency programs from people like STI, at least there you have the possibility of winning something useful along the way.
USPSA should be pushing that information out to membership, actively, not just posting it on their site for visitors to see....
They need to consult a security pro here, and fortify their response strategy. Before it starts costing them money.
It sure is, I could not be happier with the rate of growth that we are seeing in the sport. Both from a club perspective and a shooter turnout perspective.
Target Barn is relatively local and travels around a lot to matches and such, they will deliver when they do. We use them at Wildcat with good results.
If you just want a box, talk to your club's match directors, they may be able to order a box in for you when they make their yearly supply...
Just a related thought: I would suggest moving up by competing in regional matches, as opposed to shooting classifiers to advance. It's much more fun, you get a much better picture of where you truly fit in the larger community, and you can win something along the way (you have a good chance of...
