I am having a similiar problem with my Olympic. I beleive it was I that caused it, but it might be a clue to your issue. I messed with my gas block, and had bleed off causing a poorly ejected shell (I understand that's not your issue) and then in the same chamber cycle would jam a new round and...
OK good. Real sorry about that. I can't believe it was in my cargo pocket the whole time. At least you will get it back tho. Clay's a good guy. XD, Clay and myself hung out and did some more shooting after the Seed. Hand gun tactical stuff. big fun! Wish I lived closer, I really like Red Brush...
I am curious, what's the trick to get the gas block to seal up tight? Cryogenic expansion, or what ever that process is? Or simply aligning the hole perfectly?
Hey. Were you at the Eville, Appleseed April 18 with your girl friend? If so , I am the guy you let borrow your Colt Mag. I hope you got it back. I found it in my cargo pocket of my pants.:n00b: Sorry dude.
I will let you know. I am going to get out this weekend, rain or no rain and see what I have accomplished...if anything:dunno:
Parts are in and I have an itchy trigger finger.:ar15:
Yah, getting crap about Olympic, from guys that have thousands in their rifles is indicative of the times we live...
Is the gas key staked? No, and two armorers said it wasn't absolutely necessary.
Is the gas tube properly aligned in the receiver? Yes, looks fine, as well the bolt carrier comes to front position smoothly and breech locks, so to speak...
Does your gas tube shows uneven wear on one side? I'm...
I am encouraging a co worker to go to a regular one, and go with his wife to this event as moral support. They are in their 60's, no kids to watch at home.LOL Anyway, I hope it's OK if he goes to watch and learn the heritage.
Only once. I was witnessing two friends fighting over something pretty stupid in hind site, but when one friends wife got in between the two to brake it up she got assaulted. Things were pretty tense. Then the guy doing the girl slapping, was obviously out of control and started in on the...
It's difficult not to believe it's not hitting the fan. I have been seeing it hit the fan for a while. It's like a slow burn. Frog in the cool water scenario.
I think most people believe the event must be local, affecting them personally. Then the proverbial poop is in their world, and then it...
Thanks for that peace of info.
Well, you cant fault me for trying. I disassembled the rifle... I did take the extractor apart, cleaned and inspected the spring and actual extractor. i am going to order the upgrade for it as well, I guess its both the spring and gasket, as well as new...
1) Tumble brass
2) Lube the entire batch,(I don't have carbide dies)
3) Decap and size in first die at the same time
4) Re-tumble after a quick brake parts or other oil dissolving rinse
5) Sit in living room watch TV and check flash hole and hand prime case
6) for 9mm, flare and, trickle powder...
Gander sure does like to gouge. Thier RCBS dies are pretty expensive as well. They are getting pretty greedy in many areas. I think they think they are the "convenient store" for armaments, and expect we will always pay for the privilege.
I understand your timing for this weekend. I too, am in the garage making copious amounts of 9mm on a single stage, seven die Lyman. I can produce about 400 rounds in just a few hours.
However, for the future, I would look on line and shop around. You can still find some pretty good deals...
All in all, sounds like everyone handled themselves appropriately and in a gentlemanly fashion. They should be commended for their professionalism. I too am happy to hear LEO's are welcoming lawful gun owners carrying.:rockwoot:
I have finally, unfortunately I might add; have a problem with my AR. It is an Olympic Arms with a heavy barrel. I don't believe that is the problem. It has always been very reliable, and I take very good care with and of it.
So, there I am at my 2nd Appleseed. I am on day one, half way...
Years ago, I was down in Arkansas, deed south, on my friends parents property. We were going out shooting near by on some GP property, and was told, if I saw a "big cat" puma I guess, DO NOT SHOT AT IT. If I was to miss, and or **** it off, it would most likely track me back to the house and...
Sounds a bit like a mountain lion. If it had fluffy ears,(fur coming out from inside) I would say Bob cat. 3' tall though? I'm not sure, do bob cat get that tall?
