Welcome! I've been doing reloading a little over a year myself. Lots of pros in here to help. I'm using two single stage RCBS presses with RCBS (.308), Hornady (.300 Black Out) Lee (9mm) and a MEC 650 progressive for shotgun. Adding .45 and .223 soon. My reloading mentor swears by Redding...
+1 USMC for offering advice consistent with the original poster's request. Budget doesn't have to mean "bad". It's wise to seek help when you don't have a lot of $, and to spend what you have wisely. You can always upgrade when you come into some pennies. I wait for holidays too- especially...
Neither. Buy a S&W SD9VE or the newer version of the SD9. I saw them used at Bradis for $250. Mags are cheap and everwhere. You can easily upgrade later with M&P sights. Mine may be for sale soon. Then again I might bury it somewhere in case of the Apocalypse.
I had it only a few weeks before the rust was present, and even though I've lightly oiled it, it still gets it every time I sweat. It had been "carried" a few times on night runs to get a feel for it. Once I discovered the issue it had to go back.
Currently I'm ok with a little rust (it's not...
Went to the range, over 50 rounds fired. No hitches with Federal RN, handloaded HP, or my carry ammo- Hornady Critical Defense. 50 more rounds and she'll be ready for rotation. Pleased with Ruger.
Two full days 8 am-5 p.m., breaks included.
Taught by retired IPD officer, long time NRA instructor/counselor James Heath.
Mr. Heath is also an instructor for Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and Brinks.
His range is a pleasure to experience in addition to a climate controlled classroom with...
1911, even if it is only for the range. My friend's STI (older) was quickly the nicest, smoothest, most accurate experience for me with a pistol. I say that even though I don't own any 1911s, or any Glocks. Smith's ergos suit me better than Glock, which I have shot plenty of. When I wanted...
Received my new baby back yesterday with what I will call stellar service. I didn't pay a cent. Here's what they sent back.
Replaced Slide Assembly, Sear Spring. Repaired the Insert. Fired 28 rds. Black Hills 115 gr. and 21 rds. Gold Dot 147 gr. GDHP without malfunction and returned to me...
I researched BO for months before I built mine. What I read in a few places said run carbine buffer on pistol gas. This is my setup and I have zero problems.
I also use IMR 4227, which has stellar reviews for super or sub. I dont think you'd need adjustable gas just getting in for the...
I do have some other factory loads to try for sure. I'll get them posted once I can get back to a 100 yd range. One of them is a deer cartridge, and one is NATO.
