Says even if you get the green background you may have it, if your ISP is redirecting your DNS requests. Be nice if there was something more definitive.

 u need to go visit more pron sites then. ;)

If I needed porn, I'd just take a drive through bloomington on a warm sunny day... no history, no cookies, no malware and viruses...unless of course you touch one.

Any...uh...place in particular? Just so I know where to avoid, of course. For science.

Or you could just buy a Mac and skip all those crazy viruses.

    Oh, really? Macs are immune?

Easy there...he could be talking about gay porn in Bloomington :D

I assumed he was, that's why I said "avoid".

    Linux...much cheaper.
And generally just as insecure, although not usually targeted by viruses.

Operating System jingoism is no less tiresome than any other kind.

    Macs Not Virus-Free Anymore. « Complabng's Blog… simplified solutions

The only reason MAC has not been attacked more if because there is so much more $$$ to make on the WINDOWS platform in terms of stealing IDs, CC, etc.. since that is where the majority of the world is on/using.

Macs have NEVER been virus-free. That was a (very successful) marketing campaign by Apple. The fact is that Mac has a much lower share of the desktop market, and so virus writers tend not to target them as they're not nearly as lucrative. As they become more popular, though, you're going to see it a LOT more. However, as I mentioned previously, pretty much every desktop OS and most server OS's are absolutely riddled with security holes, many of which have been reported and left unpatched for years. It's like the old joke about the negligent discharge: "You've never had an ND? Don't worry, you will."

    sssssssshhhhhhh scuter01 don't scare them!
Just look from the sideline as the train wreck is sure to occur.

They SHOULD be scared! They should be absolutely terrified! Maybe then they'll pay more attention to what they're doing. Computers are amazingly powerful, amazingly complicated devices and people treat them like the toaster in their kitchen. They want to press a button and in three minutes, they've got toast. They don't want to think about the millions of criminals out there right now who are actively trying to take over their computer for their own purposes.

meh... Computers in your and my time were "powerful works on wonder" but that is not the case anymore. Now they are nothing more than toaster and a mean to some other end. The :sheep: don't want to learn how they work or how/why they do what they do. They just want to be able to update stupidbook and upload to metube, etc...

Yeah, you're absolutely right. And tomorrow, half a million people are going to be unable to use their "toaster" because they couldn't be bothered to learn how to protect it.
