Yesterday, I learned that one of my friends did something very stupid and his daughter will pay the price for the rest of her life.

He let his 9 year old daughter ride on the cutting deck that is in front of the ztr mower. She was sitting on the guards and her feet were dangling over the front of the deck. Her feet were pulled down from the grass and went under and both were mangled from the blades.

Say a prayer that she gets to keep her feet.

I'll pray hard for her...for him, smack him on the back of the head with a 2x4

Prayers for the little one. The father, what can I say. I see stupid crap similar to this frequently. Live, learn and unfortunately pay the price for learning.

We just witnessed two 10ish year olds riding around on a 30 hp JD tractor with a belly mower on it. One kid was driving, the other was sitting on the fender. If fender kid falls off towrds the front of the tractor he'll suffer a worse fate, If he falls off backwards he might live to think about the reason he was spared.

It never amazes me the stupid things that people do with or allow their little ones to do because they love them.

    Good luck little one!

thats horrible! Prayers sent! I lost a half-inch of my big toe to a lawn mower, so I can imagine what life is like for her, and its not pretty.

Not to soapbox, but ALL yard equipment is for as many operators as it has seats. 1 seat = 1 person. Dunno how many people I've heard of that have fallen under the wheels of tractors etc...

My rule has always been, when mowing ONE person mows (me), nobody else is allowed in that yard.

    No eye risk that way.

Putting a kid on a mower, let alone not in the driver's seat.............I'm speechless.
