i have a 20 ga so i cant help you but by new and old i ment matted (express) glossy (wingmaster)

I didn't think that a Mossberg barrel will work on a Remington?

I have a hastings with a scope cantilever. It is rifled and I believe it is 24". It has a matte finish (matches the Express). Here is some info on the barrel:

It is basically brand new. I bought it about eight years ago new from a gun shop in town, put a box a 5 sabots through it sighting it in, went deer hunting, then off the gun and in the case. I'll take some pics and measure it when I get home. I would let it go for $150 ftf - $160 shipped.
