Howdy guys. It’s good to be back. I have a question/favor to ask of you guys. I’ve become more interested in gunsmithing lately, going into the basics like shortening barrels and making some wooden stocks and grips. I’ve been wanting to dive a little bit deeper into things and was wondering if you guys knew where to look for “gunsmith special” type guns. I’ve tried a few local shops, but most of them outsource repairs to other smiths and it doesn’t make sense financially to keep non working or incomplete guns around. I was wondering if you guys had any tips or tricks when it comes to looking for these kinds of things. I’d ideally like to purchase a couple of bundles of incomplete guns and work on restoring them to functional condition myself. I’m guessing that different people might have different styles of incompletes, but here is a general list of what I am looking to pick up and get some experience fixing:

    1. 12 or 20 gauge single shot shotguns
    2. 12 or 20 gauge pump-action shotguns
    3. 12 or 20 gauge bolt-action shotguns
    4. 12 or 20 gauge semi-automatic shotguns
    5. 1911 style handguns (preferably in 9mm or 45acp)
    6. Browning high power style handguns (preferably in 9mm or 45acp)
    7. “Mouse” guns
    8. Bolt-action rifles (in common or semi-common calibers) no fancy wildcats
Maybe older semi-automatic rifles (in common or semi-common calibers)
