I have (3) .357 revolvers; a 4" Secty Six, a 3" GP100 and a 2.75" Scty Six. Would you trade one of them for an AK? I love them all and maybe the GP100 the best but do I really need both a 3" & 2.75"? Or should I keep all and forget about the AK?

GP100 is my favorite revolver, but I'm not a huge wheel gun guy to begin with. I'd be content keeping a GP100 and trading one of the others for the AK personally

If the AK was just how I really wanted it, probably. Otherwise I would still be wanting "my AK" in a couple of months, but would no longer have an old favorite (the GP100.)

Unless it's an arsenal AK, just forget it.

I normally recommend always trading a handgun for a rifle, but unless it's a decent rifle it's just more fodder to try to offload sooner or later.

Decided at lunch to use toward a Mini-14 purchase instead of AK. But, I forgot to mention I also have a Henry Big Boy in .357 so keeping ALL of them seems a bit un-necessary. Just trying to find a good trade option. Problem is I love the GP. Which of the "Sixes" would you let go (4" or 2.75").

I would probably let the 2.75" go. You already brought up the question about having both a 2.75" & a 3". Besides, the 4" could be used for deer hunting in most states if you so desired.

This. Also For a mid or high tier AK trade away. Honestly a decent AK is a better rifle than the Mini 14 in most all respects IMO.

I would take a good AK over a Mini 14 any day of the week. I'd also trade the Ruger for an AK. With the 2 remaining revolvers, the Henry and an AK you'd have a pretty good battery of weapons.

the mini 14 isn't exactly known for its reliability.

Guess you live in a much different area than I do. I have never seen an AK for $100 EVER. SKS's yeah, bought 3 around that price. I priced an AK (granted fully equipped like new ) better than 15 years ago for $500. Actually they have came down in price and SKS went up in the last 5 years. I purchased one (like new Norinco sportser) from an Individual earlier this year for $500 and really believe I got a super deal. By the time I converted it to what I wanted I had a $1000 in it. (POSP scope Ironwood Walnut furniture and 922r compliant).
The WASR AK's are the only ones near $500 now (and the quality is nowhere like the older ones). I really doubt the OP can trade any of the revolvers straight up for any AK. I'm not real familiar with the Mini prices so won't comment - But I certainly wouldn't trade any decent AK for a Mine.

For sure you get a different platform to shoot and fairly cheap at that but if it was your fav don't let it go you will kick yourself later.

Care to explain? Never heard a bad word on the reliability of the Mine 14. Not the most accurate rifle, decent for what it is and more accurate than any of the AK's I've seen or shot. That's the older series the newer taper barreled Mini's are even more accurate.
