Could just as well have been cold blooded murder. We may not have heard the end of this story.

I wonder how intentional that accident was. She picked it up and racked the slide like he showed her while his back was turned getting another gun out? And pointed it at him? Odd, that.

Alcohol lowers inhibitions, could have easily been a idea that flitted through her head that she acted on before the consequences hit her.

She might even convince herself its an accident, but I'd bet there's a healthy mix of intentional in that accident.

Blue, I'm a certain you have been on public ranges or gun stores that you know exactly what happened, or maybe at the PD?

She takes the pistol down to her waist and points it across her, mabye a little back and of course with her tongue out of her mouth (just like the gun store). Hubby is standing to her side, turns to get something, she runs the slide and punches him in the kidney.

We have all this at the range, gun store, gun show, what have you.

This is all speculation from my end, but based on decades of gun handling behavior it would make the most sense.

Yeah, but he was hit right below the Adam's apple per the news article. If its at her waist and she's struggling with it, its unlikely the slide is pointing up. I'd want the wound track information to check against her story before I decided to charge her with an accidental shooting or intentional.

Really? Check the ceiling just in front of the firing line at the next public range you are on.:D

Hold your pistol waist high. Rack the slide. Pretty unnatural for it to wind up pointing at the ceiling. Your strong wrist would have to cock back awkwardly and your weak hand would be close to contacting your forearm.

If she was holding it chest or face high, sure, ceiling shot is a possibility.

Either strikes me as suspicious for a shot in the upper chest. Maybe it happened the way she said, maybe it didn't. All idle speculation unless she confesses or physical evidence contradicts her statement. He sure isn't going to tell us.

    She hit way too high.

Hard to believe that she didn't take a knee first to get the proper trajectory for her case. :dunno:

    Lesson learned
I'm sure she'll remember that for the next time.
