Do any of you know if the gun range at Wilber Wright state park, has target boards to place your targets on? I would also like to know days their open and hours? This is close to me, and besides I really am tight on money to belong to a gun club with a range.
Been a few years since I was there but back then, they had stands set up. Bring your own target and a staple gun or tacks. I think they have a website for hours.
I was using the pistol range at WW and asked the DNR range officer that exact question. Her reply was, "if you're hitting your target, it's not too fast". I had two targets on the same board and was practicing alternating double taps. She watched for a few seconds and walked away.
This is a decent range for the location, although small, and can reach capacity at times requiring you to become a spectator for a few minutes, but overall, a nice, safe place to shoot.
Go. Your tax dollars paid to have it built, maintained, and keep a range officer there during operating hours, no point in wasting your hard earned money.
