Another document dump has hit Congress detailing what the White House knew about Fast and Furious. And, surprise, surprise the White House is withholding documents because of alleged "security interests".

One can only think that the security interest involves November of 2012.

White House sends Hill Fast & Furious docs, but withholds some - Josh Gerstein - POLITICO.com

The federal government knowingly and intentionally armed drug gangs in hops of creating murder and mayhem in Mexico and along our border. This will not end well for them.

We are quickly becoming the country with the most corrupt government on earth. Other governments are truly evil, yet ours hides behind perverted laws and openly defies their sworn oath to support, uphold and defend the Constitution. They pretend to be lawful while deceitfully manipulating and lying to us. From the level of crony capitalism, wealth distribution and Wall Street running Washington to the utter lack of investigating/prosecuting such obvious fraud and deceit, America is headed down an ugly path. I pray the inevitable transition (Revolution, cleansing, re-booting, call it what you want) that is coming our way will be a peaceful and bloodless one.
    Stand firm! :patriot:

This is probably one of the most shocking things the government has done in my lifetime. Whatever the so-called motive, the effect was foreseeable and unconscionable.

Basically this policy facilitated terrorism in Mexico. I thought our government's policy was to battle terrorism. By providing them weapons? And when are we supplying Al-Qaeda with plutonium exactly?

Actually the statement from the WH doesn't cite 'security interests', but rather "significant confidentiality interests". That is, executive privilege.

    Sound familiar?

"I'm sorry, but I can't let you have those documents."

    "Why is that, Mr. President?"

    "They incriminate me."

    "Oh, ok then."

By all means, try that on the police when they want evidence from your house.

In my opinion the end game was to cast a shadow on "assault weapons sold by U.S. dealers (at the ATF's behest whom they have already drug through mud)" in order to reinstitute the AW ban or worse.

The difference is going to be that the MSM will be working to protect this bunch of criminals instead of pursuing them like they did in Watergate.

I think you are correct, this was a central theme. Before the scandal there were the leftist talking points coming from Hillary, BHO, Vincente Fox and others in the administration alleging that weak US gun laws guns were to blame for a large percentage of traced weapons recovered from crime scenes there. I think each of the agencies involved may have had their own distinct agendas for the operation, CIA, Justice, ATF, and FBI.

That seems like the obvious answer, though sometimes the most obvious answer is the right one. Anyone that would have looked at this operation (in the administration) would have seen the consequences, there was no way this operation could have worked.

:tinfoil: I think fast and fusious was permitted to make the ATF look incredibly bad and short sighted. Maybe leading to the dismantling of the agency or incorporating it into HMS (like some may have suggested in other threads). Somethings just not right about this entire operation, and i think its on a grander scheme than just the ban on assault weapons

And now I regret voting for him.

I've been doing my best to follow Project Gunwalker, because the whole operation just looked so terrible. I've read many, many threads on this forum and in other websites, and, while I don't believe the president is a socialist or bent on destroying this country, it's clear that Obama has been learning on the job. Even that can be forgiven, but I will not vote again for someone who, at the bare minimum, gave tacit approval for a dangerously conceived operation and is acting like a criminal about it.
