I'm looking at a couple different 1911 to carry with me, but my problem is that I do not make a whole lot of money from my job and was wanting/needing a pistol as my neighbors worry me about my family safety(no, we can't move). I also wanted a pistol as we head to Indy quite frequently and had a slight run in a couple weeks ago.
Chances are I would be using tax money to make a purchase, unless I can get a good job with a good pay. So my selections varies in price and features, to go with the cheapest or to go with the one I really want?
Here's what I had in mind:
RIA 1911 GI
Rock Island Armory - 1911 GI
Kimber Ultra Carry 2:
Kimber America | Ultra Carry II
Kimber Pro Carry 2:
Kimber America | Pro Carry II
TAURUS 1911:
Taurus International Manufacturing Inc
Kimber Pro CDP 2(The one I really want, most expensive):
Kimber America | Pro CDP II
It is most important that the firearm must be reliable, otherwise there's no point in owning and carrying one. I want bang-every-time with hollow points, so this is where I'm asking people with experience on these firearms to chime in.
