Most of that information is OUT OF DATE and IN CORRECT.

    snopes.com: Saudi Gas Boycott

But tell me please, why the hell won't the idiots in Washington let us drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Preserve? The oil companies only need to drill on a plot of land about the size of a couple dozen golf courses, but the preserve is literally MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of acres in size.

And if you come up with an answer for that then explain why they won't let us drill off the coasts of FLORIDA or CALIFORNIA . . . I know the answer, I just don't understand it. The answer is that it will ruin the view. To that I say SO WHAT.

We are held hostage by other nations, and while Canada is our friend, we are fortunate that is the case, but they are still making billions of dollars by selling us oil when we HAVE OIL RESERVES OF OUR OWN but our politicians simply won't let us tap the reserves. This is a NATIONAL SECURITY ISSUE but the politicians would rather we pay our enemies. WHY?

Yeah I love Snopes. Every time I see an email like that Snopes is the first thing I check. You'd be amazed at what's not true anymore.

Because they want to deplete the rest of the world's reserves so that we have a monopoly and can charge what ever we want for it.

The answer is not that it will ruin the view or that it might endanger the environment. The answer is they want to establish Government control and Socialism. A couple of days ago I read an article in the USA Today praising the death of the SUV.
This is all about more taxes and more control. They want to limit your freedom by making your choices expensive. They want to establish a Carbon currency and you will be taxed based on the amount you use.
If we used more coal, nuclear power, and our own oil we would be in good shape. Pouring money into technologies that are more costly doesn't make sense unless the price of oil makes them that way. Lots of people "Greenies" are invested in these technologies and they can't pay off unless oil remains high or goes higher yet. Don't even get me started on the Snake Oil Ethanol. The market is being manipulated and the Oil Companies are the punching bag. The oil companies make about 4% profit off of what they sell while the Federal Govt makes about 18%.
We desperately need Republicans to regain control of Congress but that is not likely to happen this go round.

I am getting a bonus at work! The first thing: We have welding supplies here at work. I am going to construct an electric car for NO GAS USAGE! But this wont be a sissy electric, no no. It will be a McCollough Motors design! (hehe, i.e. Im ripping off the body design of a Lotus or something sporty). All I have to do is find a good controller though (alot of the one's Ive seen in existing cars actually dont come close to the power I need to get this thing up to Indiana backroads speed :D).
