Got my first handgun at Larry’s Guns in Huntsville Alabama. I was still in the Army at the time. Probably 1991. Still have it.

My old man gave me my first hand gun.
My first purchase as an adult…
Monce’s Hardware Store in Warren Indiana.
Jack was an ok old dude.
Thankfully I don’t have that craptastic revolver I bought from him.
Long time ago… Miss that store! :fogey:

At the next door neighbor’s garage sale. Really cheap. I could afford it even though I was 14 or 15. It was a black 1911...

    ...style CO2 BB gun.
    :D
He even threw in a box of cartridges.

My dad also gave me my first handgun, original Hamden, CT High Standard Victor he used to shoot bullseye matches with in the 70's. My first purchase was a Thompson Auto Ordnance duo-tone 1911a1. Still have the High Standard, wish I had the Thompson

Hey, I might know that guy...
Come to think of it, that seems to be a dairy farmer thing. The one I mentioned was killed in an accident on the farm many years ago. There's another one out towards Salem...
