When is enough enough?

So I'm bored on a Saturday night, and decided to gather the weapons out of my safe, under the beds, from the kids, and buried under the dog house to make sure I have a current inventory of what's at the house.

The GF walks in and does the "OMG. Do you have enough?". Didn't have the heart (or balls) to tell her that this is just what's laying around here. There's what's at dad's, the cottage, the buddy's, buried in secret undisclosed locations, ...

So the question is, is this enough? Do I need more? Could I possibly need a slight intervention?

I dunno, I only counted 16 long guns, and not even ten handguns! Looks like you got some catchin' up to do if that's all you're keeping at the house! And think about poor ol' Dad, and your buddy, just sitting around with no new toys to fondle!! It's a travesty, I tell you! You go out and buy a gun RIGHT NOW, Mr.!

Actually the M1s are all in a safe at my dad's with my collectables (non-shooters), MGs, 50 BMGs, and suppressors. Don't have an M14, but do have an M16 and MAC 11/9.

I have 5 full safes, in 3 states, and I'm getting beat by both of my brothers and my father. Great collection!

My father, brothers, and cousins buy each other bullets of different calibers, then you have to go buy the gun to match it. It's been going on for years.

I know exactly when "enough" is, and you are not there. "Enough" means that you have 2 of every gun ever made. (1 is for a back up in case the first fails). But even then that is "Only enough" and no where near "Done Collecting".

I'm sitting here watching a TLC show about hoarding with my wife. A collector is not a hoarder. Does a collector of art ever have enough paintings? Does a jeweler ever have enough V1 and VV1 diamonds? No! As long as you are caring for your guns and not allowing them to rust under cat pee, and you feel comfortable, you do not have enough.
