I think both of the pictures are unacceptable. Even if viewed in the negative, they are violating my privacy. However there isn't exactly a way around being scanned. If I am selected to be scanned, I either agree or I don't get past security.

It's like a scene from Total Recall...

I'm gonna go see if I can find some three-breasted women now :D

In related news, I believe you can now take your firearm with you on Amtrak.

Can you imagine sitting through an 8 hour shift looking at all the naked fat people going through? Looking at one naked super model would not keep you from throwing up.

Is it me or does her piercings show up on the pic one...

Unfortunately, being deployed to a foreign country to protect the constitution I can not view the second one... Irony...

 Hum... All the pics we have seen so far show a body scan that shows the person has a gun or knife under the cloths. However if I recall correctlty the 2 bombers (shoe bomber & detroit bomber) did not use guns &/or knifes. The article and pics imply that basically the scanner 'removes' the cloths. Yet it was ON/INSIDE the cloths that the detroit bomber had his bomb. So would have show up?

Plus the article goes on to say that nothing "under" the skin can be seen as in tumors, medical hard plates, etc... So do you know what a terrorist is going to do next?

Yup! You are correct if you say place the explosives INSIDE the body! Think of the scene in Batman the Dark Knight where the guy had a cellphone "inside" his chest. They already smuggle drugs inside bodies via the backdoor area.

That quote of those that give up liberty for more security deserve neither is oh so true! :faint:

Correct if you don't agree with this new "security system" you can vote with your wallet and just not fly. The more and more people that do this the more it hurts the airlines and they may finally say enough! Who know...

:dunno: If any of you are fans of Nip Tuck on FX, you'll rember a unique way some guy smuggled Heroin. Which makes me thinkd about the possibility of breast implant bombs? Hope I didn't violate any rules...

You make the choice to fly. If you do not want to be scanned, drive.

I would rather be scanned than be flown into a building or blown up in mid air.

The scanner only sees through clothing not skin. This causes items such as solids and liquids (bomb making materials) and weapons to stand out. If you look at her waist you can still see her belt buckle and a faint line of her belt. They are going to have one lane for females and one lane for males according to TSA. They may eventually give you the option of pat down, being sniffed by a dog or body scan.

This post shows why Americans are no longer free. Too many have chosen not to be. They are are too frightened to be free, and have chosen slavery in the illusory hopes of safety.

I travel all over the country, all over the world.

I fly for business and for pleasure.

I fly with my family and alone.

Staying home the rest of my life, claiming to be "free" doesn't suit me very well, I hope it works for you.

I would rather be scanned than be flown into a building or blown up in mid air.

I'd rather not be forced to choose between taking several days of driving to get to the West Coast, versus having some TSA drone scopin' out a crystal-clear image of my genitalia. Or maybe that's just me.

The scanner only sees through clothing not skin.

To me, something that DOES see through my skin and shows my internal organs would be less intrusive than one that lets the world compare me to Michelangeo's David. (And even then, women would have the counter-concern about a deeper scan that could show the world whether they're pregnant.)

If they're gonna do this, let's just save the technology costs and make every airport a nudist colony -- no clothes allowed. That would avoid the need for scans in the first place, and make the airport-bar singles scene significantly more interesting.

Sounds like there is a fairly significant exposure to microwave emissions, the amount that you would receive in 10,000 cell phone conversations at once.

Those are the same "microwaves" that travel through your food inside of a microwave oven. Not exactly good for living organisms.

Also not something that is easily tested on willing participants who are human.
