...has Daisy hired to write manuals?

Bought my oldest monkey his first BB gun, a Daisy youth 105 "Buck". Not bad for $25.

So I am looking through the manual, and I kid you not, this is the third safety rule verbatim:
    3
Only load or cock a gun when you are shooting.
A loaded gun has no place in your home or other public place.

Seriously? So I wonder how serious they are, or if they meant this only in regards to BB and pellet guns?

Well, I keep guns unloaded that I'm not using.
    So there are 4 loaded.
    The rest unloaded.

And I don't think anyone's using a BB gun for defense.

That being said, yes some lawyer is playing CYA.
Or, maybe the head of Daisy believes that statement.

And no, my post is in no way telling others what THEY should do. Only what I do.

I'm not sure that is a CYA statement as much as a statement of Daisy's corporate belief. CYA could have stopped by saying "only load or cock your gun when you are shooting. When you are done shooting, ensure the gun is unloaded and stored securely". The rest is garbage.
