What did .45 cost before the shooting last month? Its hard to know if im finding good deals or not. For example, wal mart sold 100 rds of 40 for near 27.99, and everyone else charged 20 bucks a box. I'd rather not buy it, than be ripped off.

Walmart white box 45acp used to cost around 36$/100... I don't know what it is right now though...

Pre-crazy prices for low end, but decent, brass cased ammo:

    9mm: $.20-$.22/rd
    .40: $.30-$.32/rd
    .45: $.35-$.37/rd

By low end I mean WWB, Aguila, Speer Lawman, Rem UMC, etc.

Went looking at WalMart today - they were out. One guy was in there - said he had been waiting over a month for them to get more. Unreal!

I wish I could reload for .20 a round. Just curious, where are you guys buying your FMJ bullets? I just checked around and I can't find any .451" FMJ bullets for less than $20/100 not including the cost of shipping. Plus, if you can't find primers locally, you have that crazy hazmat fee, which almost doubles the price of a 1000 primers. Yes, it's still cheaper to reload (if you can find the componet) but reloading is getting more expensive.

I calculated mine at around $0.19/round if I use my own spent brass and $0.16/each more if I use brand new never-fired brass.

I'd normally share, but I don't need you to order all of them so I can't get any :). Seriously though - I get them wherever sells them cheapest and that I trust.

Well, only if you order them 1,000 at a time.
Let's say 1,000 pistol primers are $40 - $20 hazmat fee is 33% of your total not including shipping.

You order 10,000 ($400 for primers, $20 for hazmat) and suddenly not only do you have stock, but hazmat was only 4.8% of the total order not including shipping.

    Everything is getting more expensive.

Personally I'm going to start casting my own bullets once I'm more comfortable with the reloading process which will bring my cost down to around $0.00~0.03/bullet versus $0.14/each or so for FMJ from a shop.
