Greg Parker, and others, have been hard at work at Hillside's pistol and 1,000 yard rifle range.
    • Three remote-reset plate racks, two with round plates, and one with bowling pin shaped plates
    • New pepper popper steel targets
    • Second pistol bay nearly complete
    • Third pistol bay under construction as of this afternoon
    • 24 target stands
    • 4 benches
    • Portable shade canopy
    • Rifle firing line elevated, leveled, and covered with crushed stone
    • Steel targets from 100 yards to 600 yards
Hillside is still one of the best kept secrets. Only 10 miles from Fort Wayne. Shotgun, rifle, and pistol ranges, hunting preserve, club house, and gun store!

There are photos and more information on their website here. I can't wait for them to have another marksmanship clinic because I didn't find out about their last one until it was too late.

Open to the public ? how much to shoot there & is it open on sunday?
Essentially, for all practical purposes, it is "public," i.e., you can go out there and shoot. Best suggestion for the straight scoop: call 260-672-3715 and talke to Dave (most likely) or Greg.

Yes, it is open on Sunday.

Sounds like a dandy dandy place! Have any pics?:patriot:

There are a few photos at Hillside Shooting Sports - Welcome to the Frontpage but nothing that adequately shows the rifle and pistol ranges; plus, the second and third pistol bays are brand new with no photos at all, and the rifle firing line and backstops have been raised since the published photos were taken. The photo of the clubhouse/gunshop, however, is accurate.

Best thing to do: come on out, see it for yourself, and burn some powder. I will be there tomorrow (Sunday 9/12).

So it looks like $250 a year and unlimited access when a RO is on duty. Or $50 a year and $10 a visit when a RO is on duty. Looks like RO is on duty on Fri, Sat, & Sun.
