We went to TX over the weekend to get all our stuff we left in storage and bring it back. On our way back this morning around 1:30am we decided to stop in Tulsa OK and get a hotel room for the night. I had my wife and son with me and was towing our blazer on a car dolly behind the U Haul. She had got her bag out of the Blazer and I gave her the room key and told her to head on up with our son.
I was double checking everything and as I was putting a padlock on the U Haul a Dodge charger flies in the parking lot screeching tires to a stop about 20 yards from me. I eyeballed it for a second then started walking towards our room about 100 yards away. I got almost there and heard running behind me, when I turned around there was a guy and girl running straight at my U Haul from the car. She got about 10 feet from it and the guy tackled her to the ground and she started screaming. I stepped behind a concrete pillar and called 911 as they were wrestling and hitting each other on the pavement. That's when I realized I had no idea what road I was on or anything so I ran to the office of the Hotel to get the address and as I was coming back out he was dragging the woman back to the car. As I stepped out in the parking lot heading their way he threw her in the car, closed the doors and started to take off. I turned to go back to our room and the police showed up as they were pulling out into the road. He followed them around a corner where I lost them.
I'll hopefully know a little more when the Tulsa jail booking updates tomorrow. I really want to know if they arrested the guy. Tulsa has a website that lists all crimes and jail bookings.
Since she took off running towards my U Haul I believe she seen me when they pulled in and thought I was still there when she was running towards it for help. I hope she's ok, and on one hand I wish I could have still been at the U Haul to help her but on the other hand I'm glad I was able to stay back and call for help instead of being forced into it without a choice since I didn't know the entire situation and weather or not he was armed. 20 seconds of walking towards my room is probably the only thing that kept me from pulling my gun out this morning.
