My daughter got a free box of ammo from a family member. The label says made in Singapore. When I peeled the label off it has SORDS 9x19 mm ball. The headstamp is 9x19 je. She fired two rounds and said it smoked heavy. Told her not to shoot anymore until we find out if corrosive or not. Cant come up with anything on google. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

I was reading a thread at one time that this reminds me of.
SORDS is a misprint for 50 rds.
And je has something to do with the date/batch/marking.
I will see if i can find it again.

Read the reply by "historian" Very informative. What he states seems to be verified by the headstamp codes.

Looks to be chinese Norinco ammo.
I would shoot it, just clean well afterwards.

Necro post I know. I met up with a member today to buy his Dillon 450 and he said he remembered me. It took me walking back to my car after browsing Cabelas when i realized I had bought some 9mm ammo from him.

In the lot I had bought there were 3 boxes of this Chinese stuff. Shot fine, but the brass only lasted reloading twice before the brass was so weak it wouldn't hold a crimp. I found this out when I opened my ammo can at the range and found a brass casing missing a bullet. i found it all at the bottom of my can. Also when seating the bullet some would seat way too far.
