so i have never been trout fishing before. i have heard the only decent chance is brookville.

what does a first timer like me need to know? is it primarily fly fishing? or can it be done with light tackle and a spinner/spoon?

I read that the minium size on brown is 18" are they common that big? or is it more of a rarity to catch a keeper?

when do they release the fish? and are there any rainbows around after the first week or two?

any tips or advise would be great

I went for trout for the first time about a month ago at a city park that is stocked with trout in early spring. I used an inline spinner/rooster tail and they seemed to go after that lure nicely. There are very little rocks near the shore at the pond I went to. I would not use inline spinners if the shore/bank has lots of rocks. Too easy to get snagged and lose them.
