I know that you must inform the officer when you are pulled over in MI. Is there a quick reference somewhere on the web where I can see if the same applies in other states? KY, TN, GA in particular.

Click on the state you are interested in, and you'll get a brief synopsis of their laws. Nothing replaces actually checking that state's laws, but this is a pretty good source.

I know this is a little bit of a tangent from the OP, but I really hate the Must Disclose laws... mostly because it seems like such a direct violation of the 1st and 5th amendment. I cannot see how being arrested for such a violation would (or at least should) stand up in court if you had the money to fight it.

I think I remember reading somewhere that some judges have ruled that someone illegally carrying can not be required to disclose that fact even in "must disclose" states. On the other hand, a law-abiding citizen doesn't have the same right to remain silent? That is absolutely absurd! A law-abiding citizen is more restricted and has fewer rights than a criminal?

Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest, I will comply when I am visiting other states, but if the Indiana legislature ever tries to pass such a law, I will be very vocal in my opposition.

Yes & it's :bs:. That's why those kinds of laws are so stupid. They do nothing to protect the general public or LEO's at all.

Then again you don't have to disclose. They can't physically force you. Then you can become a dcriminal & get those "extra" rights.
