I'LL play .... #1 My bull barrel AR #2 My Remington 11-87 rifled barrel slug gun #3 My Thompson 50cal. Muzzleloader... These do all my Long shooting that I need to do... #4 Would be my 10-22 cal but you only give me 3 to chose from and it cost to much to shoot so it a safe queen...
1. M1A/M14. The Garand perfected. Not overly heavy and I love the ammo it eats. This rifle made ARs boring after day 1.
2. Remington M700 VLS. Can eat the same ammo as the M1A, but has it's own specific loads with 175 grain pills.
3. Remington M870 Wingmaster police. A lot of butt whoopin in a light package.
There is a common theme here, but I can't help but agree. Mine would be:
- Henry Lever Actions (smoothest actions out there).
- The Remington 700 platform.
- Remington 870 Wingmaster (I'm a remy fan).
Based on what I like to shoot....
10/22, makes the range trip every time. Love shooting it!
AR, again, makes the range trip every time! Its accurate enough, and light weight enough for most anything I'd do.
PSL- again, one of my faves to shoot! Not a tack driver, but is a crowd pleaser and cheap to shoot.
My list is not my SHTF list, I'd throw a shotgun on somewhere if that were the list.
Honorable mention is my Yugo M70ab2.
Remington 700 22/250 - flat and fast
AR10A - the punch of a 308 on a AR platform
Cheytac 416 Intervention - 3 shots on target at over 2 miles need I say more
Ive never thought of shotguns and 22s as long guns but if i had to pick 1 of each they would be -
Saiga 12 w/ bump stock - a "HOLY COW BAT CRAP CRAZY BEAST"
Ruger 10/22 Takedown - versitile little varmint gun w/ both sights on the barrel 1 thing the Henry Survival Rifle lacks to be my pick
1. My AR
2. My AR SBR. (still considered a "long" gun by the feds)
3. My .308 Savage Axis. (it's cheep, but it's the first gun my wife ever bought me... she's coming around)
I was gonna say my .44 mag Rossi M92 carbine with 18" octagon barrel... truth is it's ties for #1.
