    He's 13, and I've taken him twice to the indoor range. First time was at Apllied Ballistics First Shots. :yesway: He's only shot .22 pistol and rifle there. He did well, and I told him that we would soon shoot outdoors. And, that we would shoot something larger than .22. He spent most of the weekend babysitting his younger brother, so I told him I'd take him Moday afternoon.

    He hadn't shot my Ruger MKII since I put the red dot on it. He did much better with it.

    He also had fun busting up clay pigeons. ;)

    Then on to 9mm.

    At first, he had a little trouble controlling muzzle flip;

    But after a few more rounds, and some coaching, he did much better.;)

    Nice thing about a weekday afternoon at the range, you can have the lanes all to yourself. Time to break out the rifles. Here he is with my 9mm Just Right Carbine;

    Shooting offhand, at 50yds, and his first time shooting ghost ring style sights. On his second 5 shot group, he put 4 on the 5" target.

    He was pretty happy with that.

    Since he did well with the JR, I got out the Ar;

    He really liked it.

    And here he his showing good form shooting at 100 yds for the first time, with the bolt action that I bought to teach him with. It was the first time he shot it with a scope on it.

    About 5 hours of fun range time. :D

    Well I wish I had someone to do all this for me when I was 13 on summer vacation! I wouldn't have realized it then, but I would have loved every second :)
