Convinced him earlier this year to get his Lifetime LTCH and today we went shopping for his first handgun.

Took him to Elmore's since it was close by and he was looking for a 1911, since that's what he had in Army days in Vietnam.

Looked around for awhile and he ended up buying a nice, lightly used .40 M&P.

Always good to have another Hoosier exercising his 2nd Amendment rights. :rockwoot:

oh, he will. He lives down in Loogootee and can shoot as much as he wants in his back yard, lol.

He found quite a bit of .40 on his way home at a Bloomington Wal-mart.

If I could only have one, it would be a 1911. Having said that, I also have an M&P in .40 and they are great little guns, too. My dad and I never miss a 1500 and it seems like we spend more on each other than we do ourselves. It's a good feeling to do something for your father.

Dad had his fill of 1911's in Vietnam, 13 yr's of AD and 20 more in the NG.

He chose what he wanted based on his plenty of years of experience.

Said he wanted something dependable, rust-proof and high capacity.

    I think he did alright.

He did better than alright. M&P's are great guns.
