Im hoping to get a 357/38Spl lever gun with a factory threaded barrel to use as a surpressor host.
I have heard great things about the henry action but poor things about the furniture.
I tried the Smith 1854 in a store and the trigger sucked, but otherwise it felt nice.
Marlin/ruger either will be or has been making the 1894 with a threaded barrel, but I don't know much about it.
Theoretically aero might make one. Rossi and citadel also make options. I can agonize forever, waiting for the perfect one to be developed, or is there one I really should go for and what makes them better?

The newly released Marlin 1894 SBL Stainless comes with a threaded barrel. I have heard nothing but good reports from the new Ruger/Marlins, wish I had one to review myself :)

I had a chiappa 357 but sold it because I wanted a higher quality option. I purchased a SW 1854 in 44 and it is an excellent rifle! They are supposed to be releasing a 357 soon. I don't have a Marlin for comparison but the SW is excellent

I love the henry x. Very smooth cycling. The stock doesn't feel bad to me at all.

I’ve got a new Marlin by Ruger .357 1894 and can’t say anything bad about it. With the 1in20” rifling the gun is very accurate with both factory and reloaded ammo. Fit and finish, wood to steel, is excellent and the action after a couple of hundred rounds is that much smoother.
I very much enjoy the firearm. :wavey:
