I was gonna just post a similar question. I am a DD for a few people I work with and I was wondering if it is okay to carry in bars in Indy? I'm not sure where exactly we will be going. I heard possibly "Have a nice day cafe"? I won't be drinking and I will be escorting a handful of female nurses I work with so I figured it might be safe to go ahead and carry.

people will say drinking and carrying dont mix, but id rather be alive dealing with a situation than to be dead.

your permit says you can carry anywhere but govt buildings and schools. if you get wanded and they tell you no, you probably shouldnt be there anyway.

I agree with the "no drinking while carrying" rule. I feel it could really fall back on you if you ever shot someone and you did have even one drink. But since I'm the DD that night I won't be drinking at all and that's why I was gonna go ahead and carry. I just didn't know if there was any "bar laws" that did not allow it.

Nope, no bar/alcoholic beverage serving restaurant laws!

I drink and carry. I always carry. If drinking turns you into a dangerous person the you shouldnt be drinking. Its your choice always use your best judgement.

I'm sure I can have one or two drinks and still be able to make those life or death choices. All I'm saying is if I'm walking out the bar and I get into a shootout with someone and kill em. I don't want the PA having the ammo to say that I did have some alcohol in my system and that could have impaired my judgement. My thinking is if they can get me for driving while under the influence I'm sure they can find some way of turning a self defense situation against me.

I dunno I could be wrong but I'd rather not find out the hard way.

Maybe check it out ahead of time, go there on a friday or saturday night, and either strap on a gun and see what they say, or leave the gun at home/in the car, and see if they use a wand or pat down.

I wish I could help you more, but I haven't been to broadripple in a couple years, and I don't remember what the vogue does. I wanna say they don't check, but don't quote me on that.

edit: Just checked their website, and found this, might wanna call.
    5. Is there a dress code?

Yes & No. You must wear shirt & shoes to all events. The concerts do not have a dress code. However, the dance club dress code is, as following: No Athletic Gear (ie. Jerseys, sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc). No visors, buckethats, fishing hats, etc. Weekends = No Hats, whatsoever. No Camouflage. All T-shirts must be tucked in, at waist level. If you are not sure, please call our box office.

I had my .38 in my front pocket when I went to see GWAR at the Vogue. No wond, no pat down, no problems, except for having to ditch the holster when I was done because the GWAR juice and sweat wouldn't come out.

The 5 or 6 times I've been there for concerts in the last few years they have frisked. Could be different depending on who's playing, etc.

Make no mistake about it, if there are hot dog heads (you know, the guys who have a row of hot dogs on their necks) at the front, you better believe if they catch you carrying, YOU WILL BE SLAMMED TO THE FLOOR AND ESCORTED OUT

    How do I know?

    It happened to me.

I don't mean to threadjack, but couldn't find my answer in older threads. Are there any actual publications out right now what all the applicable rules/regulations are for carrying? I've already reviewed all the Title 35 stuff from the State, but also interested if there's anything else in print that's available online or at the local book store(s).

    ****LANGUAGE WARNING*******

It was a friends 21's birthday, and low and behold she wanted to go to that area to hit all the dives.

I was DD for the crew.

We started over towards the Vogue, and seen said pinheads (read: MEATHEADS AKA HOT DOG PACKS) at the door, frisking every body.

Not wanting to start a commotion, I politely walked up to the largest meat head with LTCH in hand, and asked,

"Excuse me sir. Will there a problem with me entering with this?"

"With what? A piece of paper?"

    "Read the card sir."

"What the **** is this? You think you can bring a gun in here you're ****ing stoopid."

His hand immediately went on the back of my neck, and escorted me to my knees, and walked me away from the building.

"Don't ever come about MY club again with that ****," said the MeatPack.

And so we went over to another bar, walked right in, and had a good night.

    The end.

    That is crazy.

Nothing wrong with what you did.

Once he put his hands on you, that would be assult and you would of had reason to defend yourself.
