    JEGS appears to be the best option. I'm not sure if they include the core charge in their price or if it is extra. Classic Industries includes it but is still higher overall. The other option is having this one rebuilt, but I like the idea of 36 months warranty with no mileage limitations.

    Sunny here but only 17 degrees. She's either thirsty or has developed a leak that isn't showing on the garage floor. I usually use about a quart between oil changes. I add the third quart today since the last change 1500 miles ago. That is not okay.
    Does it smoke? Seems like it should be if it's burning through that much oil.

    I found an ATK that fits. 4 bolt main. $1725.00 plus shipping and maybe the core charge. I figure for under $3K, he can have it as good as new.

    LS's can be carbed. Still need the harness and ECM though. Old school swap is easier, but the LS is more efficient over all.
    We try to avoid the ECM. My 89 and the 92 pickup have it but we couldn't pass up the 92 for $3K for a rust-free spare truck.
