Uhg!!! I have to do that too this summer. We are going to do it ourselves, Mrs already knows how to operate a backhoe.

I remember you posting that.

There is an old Cistern under our deck. I think it fills up during heavy rains, then leaks into our basement for days afterward. Plus, tyhe backyard slopes downhill to the house, it really needs some drain tile.

Got enough elevation to add some dirt to get it to go the other way?

Consider closing off the drains to the cistern, then back filling the cistern. I done that 27 yrs ago. Helped a bunch.

Yeah, got to remove the deck and the top of the cistern to see what I am dealing with.

I want to thank whoever sent us RAIN!! YAY!!! My grass seed finally got wet today. Just a really light rain all day so I hope it soaked in a bit and at least will help it grow.

Now...could someone please turn up the temp just a couple of notches? It is low 40's and I'm cold.

They might, but in this case, hubby built them a fire and then came in the house. I guess it is important for them to be warm and comfy. I'm not sure we have any dry firewood to build one in here. I may have to kick on the furnace. I have to turn on the oven to fix dinner so that should help. Better go get that going.
