Went to test drive a Nissan leaf at IMS and get lunch. I could by an electric car I was actually surprised how well they drove.

That is where I sit now Jetta TDI is probably going to be my next car, if I get a car.

Also the car only has a 100 mile range per charge so any weekend getaways will require a second vehicle. This would be a great option for someone who has a big truck to haul his toys with on the weekends but only needs a little commuter car for during the week.

The nissan leaf used a battery pack with 40+ batteries in it. They wouldn't tell you how much the batteries cost individually to replace.

Jetta TDI is the way to go!

My buddy has one, gets almost 50mpg on the highway and if you need to get going in a hurry they are still pretty quick and will get up and go.

Plus, they last quite a while.
