    Have you tried bailing wire?

Wouldn't be worth the effort. It would just start leaking somewhere else. What gets me is the fact that this van is 6 years old and the muffler is shot. My truck is 12 years old and the muffler doesn't even have much rust on it. :dunno:

Have you tried the muffler tape that they make? How old is the van?

The muffler tape/exhaust tape works pretty well, but I wouldn't call it a long term fix by any means

A new OEM style muffler is only around $60. I think I'd rather just fix it right. None of the local parts stores have it in stock so I'll need to wait for it to come in. I checked some on line sources and couldn't beat the price so I'll just buy local.

That would be my advice if you plan to keep it for a little while.

You're not a true addict. If you were, it wouldn't matter where they came from. I imagine Mrs. G can make a mean pie.

    I used to, I don't bake anymore

I used to build those :D

I'd help you out if I still got a discount

I knew a guy once who looked a lot like you, he worked making tires too at Hoosier tire. Damn he'd be almost old enough to be your dad.. do you know who your father is? ;)

Na, I worked up north at B.F. Goodrich (also Uniroyal or Michelin depending on the years).

And yes, I know who my father is :p

Mrs. G, I've been driving by your store way too often lately. That's one of the few times I wish I didn't drive a marked company vehicle.
