Here's the one I started looking at.
Disadvantage, $650 price.
Need something Wi-Fi capable for the monitor, it doesn't come with one. Phone, Tablet, or Laptop.

The system I'm thinking of building should be less than $200.
Wouldn't use Wi-Fi. Instead video transmission. 7 inch monitor included in price.


Camera is protected by being on the ground about 5 foot away.
If you want, you could put a sandbag in front of it. Just have the antenna sticking up.

Only thing is, I wonder if the standard definition will work good enough. Or if I need a high def. I think standard should be good.

From a distance of just 5 feeet, you would think standard def would be fine...

If youre just punching paper Id agree stndard def would suffice but if youre punching holes in 3D targets high def would be fun

Looking at enclosures/cases. I could use a 50 cal ammo can. But I'd want to either drill holes for vents, which would compromise the water tightness, or go with a marine battery enclosure, which comes vented yet still protected from casual water spray.

Looks like a neat project ACT, and with your electrical knowledge something that you could build cheaper than buy....

you would need a monitor and a 12v battery to run the camera.......it is good to 1000 meters......price isn't bad...

Yes. But it's a question of time.
Still, I'm leaning towards the build decision. I think I can make it the way I want.

Well, one of my concerns is to stick with someone I've ordered from before. Such as Amazon, Allied Electronics, Jameco Electronics.
Then, I also look at the ability to get replacements.

i have never ordered from them before either......i was looking at them to put at my food plot to watch and DVR what comes there.......only thing would be a solar panel big enough to recharge the bat......panel would cost more than the cam and battery....

Got to build it! Not a lot of info about camera output and monitor input specs though.
