Work would be more likely to get me a back.
Chairs I have to "reallocate" from other areas.
Once, when the division office got new chairs, they let us grab theirs from the garbage.

You just reminded me of a funny story. I had a geography class at UE back when, and we were always short a chair or two. The professor would delegate me the task of procuring the requisite number of chairs, and I usually went to the theater-style lecture hall on the other side of the corridor which had a platform at the top which generally had several free-standing seats, and the room was generally empty. One day I went on my regular chair raid, and Snorko's dad was teaching a class in that room. He, understandably, got a really interesting look on his face, albeit without skipping a beat in his lecture, when he saw me slip in and abscond with a couple of chairs. Amazingly, not a single person was paying enough attention to him to look behind them to see what he was looking at!

I've gotten the garbage chairs on every job I've ever had. Even my volunteer job at the hospital. The old ladies who volunteer in the gift shop get the broken-down **** that the other departments throw out.

Someone is sitting in this chair 24 hours a day, and most of us are bigger girls. I asked for something comfy that rolls and has cloth upholstery, not vinyl. I can't stand a ****ing plastic chair. I have to sit on a towel if I get stuck with a vinyl chair.
