From the looks of it, a pretty nice, expensive one. That used to be pretty accurate.

An apprentice that didn't know what it was since it didn't have a digital display.

I know of a new guy in a shop that was so proud of his new digital mic, until the rest of the guys told him he couldn't use it. They told him that the lights that were used in the shop would mess with the electronics and it would give false readings. Not sure just how long they kept him going on that. I think a couple of months...

They also "kidnapped" one of the ladies that worked in the office grandson. She had just gotten a picture of him and had it on her desk. They took the photo, scanned it and shopped him out of it. Then put that in the frame and left it on her desk with a note that said they kidnapped him, and not to call the police. She was hot at first, came into the tool room yelling and demanding the picture back. Every once in a while they would send her a ransom note with the picture of him shopped into it from various places. One showed an arm dangling him over the grand canyon with a demand for a dz donuts the following Monday. And various ones similar to that. iirc That one went on for almost a year.

Carpenter here, a chisel used as a screw driver.

I met a fellow who had his grandfathers carpenters tool box full of antique hornbeam trim planes. (used for making decorative trim from raw lumber, don't you watch the Woodrights Shop? Sheesh!)

Some one had removed the 3/4" straight iron and used it as a chisel, mushrooming the end of it.
