Good range trip with great friends. The guns seem to be getting, bigger, fancier and even more fun to shoot. Words can't even begin to describe Mouse's new 2011. In order to keep this up somebody better be buying some lottery tickets. ;)
Picked up my two new milsurps, CZ 85 and a CZ 75 Compact, after work. I was very surprised to find that the compact has an alloy frame. That's a great bonus. Took them both to the range and both passed their initial function tests without any major issues. Need to replace a recoil spring and have a mag brake looked at.

Heat.....Krol oil.....You want to "Expand" the slide to release the sight.....:)

Try soaking it in a penetrating oil like PB blaster, worked for me on old my ruger CMD. I've also heard of people putting the slide in a freezer.

Heat would also help if it was installed with Loktite. If you want to get really technical, you can heat the slide in a toaster oven, then hold some dry ice to the sight to help. That's a lot of overkill for a sight though. Large, interference fit jet engine mounts maybe, but doing a rear sight that way would just be an excuse to buy and play with dry ice.

I tried heat, but did not have any penetrating oil. Never ran into a sight this tight before and most people know enough to use just a little BLUE locktite on sights. Guess the people that put this one on didn't know that. I bought this PCR new from a LGS so this is the factory that got this sucker stuck on permanent like.

Sounds like a good night out. You are right about the lottery tickets. After seeing CM's 2011, I've been dreaming dreams of all kinds of projects, none of them cheap. That big, fat old Brownell's catalog has been getting quite the workout lately.

My dream car. If I'd had $10k in 1987 in Monterey, CA I'd probably still own one. PV2 in the army has no credit.
I've always liked them and their sister car the 944. The 928 is sort of funky looking, but that's what makes them cool. Too many fancy electronics for me though, I'd take mine gutted the way a proper Porsche should be. Love me some speedster, 356 and aircooled 911.

Hitting the range twice this weekend. Hitting MCF&G tomorrow morning with some friends and meeting redwingshooter at Point Blank at some point over the weekend. Should be fun... :ar15:

    Morning everyone! :coffee:

I'm heading for MCFG in a couple of minutes to test the project Springer. New grips come in today sometime, then I need to find an engraver and the project will be done. Happy times!

:yesway: I always have mixed emotions about finishing a project. It usually means I have to look for another one.
