Gee thanks, I wouldn't have known that fact.
I was replying to @bcannon about the ergo's between the two pistols.
I just wanted to be a smartass. ;)

The p10 has more of a palm swell to it, compared to the p09 which as you know is pretty slim, both have back strap systems which is nice. The p10 has (in my opinion) better grip texturing too.

That’s about all that I’m aware of, I’ll leave the floor open to others with more experience than me.

Finished work on the old Dietz Air Pilot lantern I bought. You can still get parts for these although they are marvelously simple and well constructed. I picked this up as it was embossed with Van Camp Hardware Co. of Indianapolis logo and name, same as the Colt Official Police in the picture that was sold to the Indiana State Police in 1935 through Van Camp. I also have a page from one of their old catalogues showing the Colt revolvers they sold.

The lantern was pretty rusty when I got it, hard to pick out the original paint. The manufacturing date was rusted away but it has to be between 1915 and 1956 so maybe the lantern was sold around the same time as the revolver. A cleaning with phosphoric acid took care of the rust and the paint is as close as I could come to the old color.

The revolver was ordered from Colt with two custom requests, ISP was to be engraved on the butt and the trigger pull tuned to 3.5 pounds. A Colt letter is a great thing to get if you have an older Colt revolver, it can fill in some of the history or provide you with a surprise provenance you never suspected.

What are the differences between the P09 and P10 pistols.
I have a suppressor ready P09 that's OK, the grips are really aggressive with +P ammo.
The P10 guns grips are more rounded, more comfortable in the hand than the square-ish, flat sided feel of the P09, P07 guns imo. The P10, P09, and P07 all benefit from the Talon rubberized grip to tone down the aggressiveness of the factory grip texture too. The Talon sandpaper grips might be your preference and would probably work also but I personally prefer the rubberized offering.

    Again, my :twocents:.
