I went yesterday and picked up that Walther Q4 steel frame from my dealer, I sort of took the whole steel frame thing with a grain of salt but that thing is a little beast, weighs as much as a 1911 but a very sweet Walther trigger. I got notification also my auction stuff should be showing up today, probably just in time with all the weather coming across the midwest.

Spent the day in my workshop. There was weather outside?

All set for bluing, toaster oven, hot plate with boiling water, heat gun.

Decided I needed to re-prep the trigger guard and slide as I had some defects coming through the blue So each got 6 cycles today and I finished up the other parts as well.

It is amazing that after 4 cycles there is almost no rust formed after applying the Express Blue and boiling. By the 6th cycle there was no noticeable rust. That’s how I decided I was done.

Hard to capture the tru color in a phone camera photo but more of a dark blue/gray with a hint of silver? It is a black rust coming out of the boil pot. Something in between the next 2 pics
