Terminators

There is a lot of talk about zombie guns and SHTF guns. After watching T2 again, I think I am most worried about Terminators. Shotguns seemed to be the most effective, with the M79 delivering the coupe de grace. Handguns seemed to have little effect. What would your choice be to ward off Terminators?
