bw, not trying to call you wrong, but ive had several that all ran fine. Lubrication is key, IMO. I have had problems with my lightwieght gun, but only after I switched to Dave Tubbs Speedlock springs and a goofy off brand bolt buffer.

Any reviews on the H&K/Umarex 416 .22lr tactical rifle? Of course they are trying to sell by making it seem like the HK 416 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsgstaO18jY]YouTube - Future Weapons Season 2 Episode 6(First Strike): The HK 416[/ame] But is it reliable. The Dedicated AR, about how much was the total cost?

The Dedicated AR, about how much was the total cost?

A dedicated 22LR AR is like any other AR, or gun project for that matter. You can put a simple one together fairly inexpensively (for a dedicated AR), or you can add pieces/parts to your hearts content and have several thousand wrapped up in it.

Just an estimate on the low end:

AR Lower - $100 (Our site supporters often run specials on these around this price, for TI, Spikes, etc.)

    Lower Parts Kit - $65
Stock Assembly - $20 - $60 (You can probably get someone on here to sell you a buffer tube, spring, and collapsable stock for fairly cheap that they have leftover from a build.)

Dedicated 22 Upper - One can be had for around $400 to $500. However, you may be able to find one much cheaper on classifieds or by bidding on one at gunbroker, or finding one on sale. Patience is the key here.

    Total: Approximately $600

My tactical pistol vote for a "build project" would be a Ruger Charger! Otherwise the 10/22 for a rifle build project. Man there are so many variations available, ain't life grand for us gun buyers now??!!!

I am looking at the mp 15-22 magpul version. I like that it operates just like my AR. The safety, bolt release, last round hold open and charging handle all operate unlike some of the others. It is a little expensive, $500 but I want to use it for inexpensive training.
