10/22 is the way to go for the tactical look. Granted you can get a AR-15 look alike, but with the 10/22 its a lot easier to make it run reliable. And lets face it, for the cost of a S&W M&P 22lr, I bought my 10/22, added the stock, threaded barrel, scope and mags.
SIG 522.
I have yet to see a 10/22 build that will reliably make it through 120ish rounds of fast fire without a hiccup. Mine did once out of numerous tries (I won that match.)Or do a dedicated AR build!!
Mine runs way more reliable than any 10/22 build I have seen.My dedicated AR (not a look alike) has run as reliably as any 10/22 I have ever owned...
Really bw...........really?Gotta love the "tactical" wording.

It is a .22LR, the nature of the beast is that it will never be 100% reliable though. I have had the occasional stoppage, but it's the exception as opposed to the rule.

To me, the dedicated AR build is the truly "tactical" .22LR. It gives you an economical way to learn the nuances of your true battle rifle.
