I'm looking for a tactical .22. Does anyone have any suggestions? If so what are the stats on the ones you are suggesting and why do you prefer it over others.

    Thanks

GSG5-22 or a S&W mp15-22 seem like good platforms.Or you could get you a ruger 10/22 and modify it up however you'd like.Any of the 3 would be an excellant choice.

Or he could mean a tactical sniper trainer like the Savage MkII TR or the 10/22 tactical. Either way the MkII TR is hot, and supposed the be super accurate.

10/22 is the way to go for the tactical look. Granted you can get a AR-15 look alike, but with the 10/22 its a lot easier to make it run reliable. And lets face it, for the cost of a S&W M&P 22lr, I bought my 10/22, added the stock, threaded barrel, scope and mags. :twocents:

My dedicated AR (not a look alike) has run as reliably as any 10/22 I have ever owned, if not more reliably. Aside from a self inflicted issue (using the mag to stabalize the gun and causing follower issues) I have NEVER had an FTE with this rifle. A few FTF's, but that was ammo related.

That being said, I love my 10/22's. I have several, they have been used and abused, and run great!! The options are endless, get our your wallet and you can get as tactical as you want!http://img534.imageshack.us/i/p3160002.jpg/

    I started with a Kel-tec SU-22, was not that pleased so I traded it for a 10/22.

It was built by the shop I bought it from. It has a Butler Creek folding stock, UTG rail, Fiber optic front site, fiber optic flip up rear site, and Fire-Fly red dot scope. I like it much beter then I did the Kel-Tec. I have no experience with the M&P, GSG5, or the Sig.

    Gotta love the "tactical" wording.:D

Or do a dedicated AR build!!
I have yet to see a 10/22 build that will reliably make it through 120ish rounds of fast fire without a hiccup. Mine did once out of numerous tries (I won that match.)

My dedicated AR (not a look alike) has run as reliably as any 10/22 I have ever owned...
Mine runs way more reliable than any 10/22 build I have seen.
It is a .22LR, the nature of the beast is that it will never be 100% reliable though. I have had the occasional stoppage, but it's the exception as opposed to the rule.

To me, the dedicated AR build is the truly "tactical" .22LR. It gives you an economical way to learn the nuances of your true battle rifle.

    Really bw...........really?

I honestly can't remember the last time my 10/22 jammed, even with multiple people shooting it at the Riley matches.
